Splitting

Merge back

The exact inverse of a split, available at any point before maturity.

The merge tab lists every token and maturity where you hold both sides. The mergeable amount is the smaller of the two balances: merging burns that many PT and that many YT and credits the same number of stock tokens back to your deposited balance.

It does not matter where the units came from#

Merging works with PT and YT you bought on the market exactly as well as with sides you minted yourself. The contract only checks that you hold equal amounts of both sides of the same token and the same date.

Exiting without trading#

Merging is how you unwind a split without selling either side into a book. If both sides are thin, or the market is dislocated, merging returns the underlying token at exactly its own value rather than at whatever the two books would have paid.
